2nd Annual of Glasgow Learning and Teaching Conference: Promoting Student Success through the Curriculum
The conference will take place on Friday 24th April 2009 in the Charles Wilson Building and will focus particularly on on curriculum developments with regard to:
- First year students
- International students
- Taught postgraduate students
- Assessment and feedback practices
Once again the conference will provide a platform for colleagues to communicate and share ideas, outcomes of development work, research or scholarship and their good practice in learning and teaching.
Please note that registration will open and the full programme will be announced in February
Call for Papers:
The conference will consist of a combination of presentations and interactive workshops from University staff. You are therefore invited to submit abstracts for presentations or workshops using this proforma. These should relate to the conference title and themes and will be selected on the basis of the following criteria:
- Links to the University’s Learning and Teaching Strategy
- Innovation
- Breadth of interest to the community
Please submit your abstracts to Fiona Bell - fiona.bell@admin.gla.ac.uk by Friday, 30th January. The successful abstracts will be published in an online Proceedings of the conference.

The Principal, Sir Muir Russell gave the opening address and the keynote addresses were from the SRC Vice-President Learning and Development, Gavin Lee and Professor David Nicol, Director of the Re-engineering Assessment Practices (REAP) project, Deputy Director, Centre for Academic Practice and Learning Enhancement, University of Strathclyde. The event combined presentations with workshops led by staff from across the University
