Carnegie leadership programme (CASTL)

The University of Glasgow is part of one of the themes of the CASTL Leadership Program, one of many initiatives of the Carnegie Academy for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning

The theme is:  Building Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Communities.  The other institutions in this theme are:

  • Dartmouth College
  • Kwantlen University College
  • The Ohio State University
  • Queens University of Charlotte
  • Ryerson University
  • Southeast Missouri State University

    The University has supported and continues supporting the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in a number of ways:

  • Taught courses for academic staff and postgraduate students

  • Workshops and seminars

  • SoTL symposia

  • Annual Learning and Teaching conferences

  • Setting up an online journal PESTLHE (Practice and Evidence of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education)

  • Running a Learning Community of University Teachers engaged in SoTL

  • Learning and Teaching Development Fund

  • The BeSoTLed website
