Mahara
What is it?
It is a tool to assist in Personal Development Planning, in which material is accumulated in an individual portfolio. The material in the portfolio is owned and managed by the individual (either staff or student) and no-one else has access to any of it unless the individual concerned gives explicit permission to someone else to access a particular item.
What is my Userid and Password?
It shares the login with Moodle and for students this is the same userid and password as they use to access computers at the University, their email and Moodle. For staff it is generally a Novell userid and password.
Where is is?
Mahara should be accessed via links from Moodle. There is a link on each Faculty Moodle Home Page. Course teams may add extra links to facilitate student use of Mahara as appropriate. Anyone who needs help with this should contact the HelpDesk.
At any time, if you are already logged in to Moodle, you will not need to supply any further userid or password, but should seamlessly move between one and the other until you log out.
A useful resource for information is the Employability & PDP web site at the University of Glasgow.
