Academic Development Unit

The Academic Development Unit (ADU) delivers initial and continuing professional development programmes in learning, teaching and assessment in higher education for academic and academic-related staff.  The Unit also contributes to educational development and the implementation of the University’s Learning and Teaching Strategy through departmental review (DPTLA) and Learning and Teaching Development Fund (LTDF) project support, and through work with colleagues in faculties offering advice, in-house seminars/workshops, curriculum review and the evaluation of learning and teaching. The Unit supports the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) through its contribution to the Learning & Teaching Centre programme of annual seminars and one-day events. Staff of the ADU conduct and publish RAE returnable scholarship and research.
