Business English European Seminar (BEES)

At Scottish University of the Year - Glasgow 2007

Come to Glasgow for your BEES' course

  • learn about European business culture in Scotland
  • improve your English in a friendly environment

Glasgow

  • the largest city in Scotland
  • situated on the River Clyde
  • in the west of Scotland
  • has a long history of industry and trade
  • today it is one of Europe's top 20 financial centres
  • home to many of Scotland's leading businesses

It is a cosmopolitan city but very friendly. If you like big city life, you will love Glasgow and quickly feel at home. And if you want something quieter, some of Scotland's most beautiful scenery is close by. Loch Lomond is only 30 minutes away by train. See link for more information about Glasgow http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glasgow

Scotland is one of the four countries that make up the United Kingdom and has its own legal and educational system. It also has a strong national culture, with a flourishing tourist industry - have you heard of the Loch Ness monster? Eaten haggis? Drunk whisky? Played golf? Scotland is the birthplace of all of these.

The University of Glasgow is very old (founded in 1451) - it has both traditional, old buildings and bright modern ones. You can find out more at:

 http://www.gla.ac.uk/about/history/ and http://www.gla.ac.uk/about/factsandfigures/ .

Classes will take place in the newly refurbished Business School.
