Scotland is one of the four countries that make up the United Kingdom and has its own legal and educational system. It also has a strong national culture, with a flourishing tourist industry - have you heard of the Loch Ness monster? Eaten haggis? Drunk whisky? Played golf? Scotland is the birthplace of all of these.
