Accessing the student gateway
The student laptop gateway provides access to the basic facilities - filestore, email, password change and printing.
To access the start page go to:-
Where you will see a splash page like this:-
Note: you need to know your Glasgow user id* and context to use this service.
ie .yourGlasgow User ID.youryear.yourfacultycontext.student.Gla
eg 0765553w.2007.lbss.student.gla
*Your Glasgow User ID is your registration/matriculation number followed by the first letter of your surname.
The system will log you in and the main page is displayed :-
The system displays brief outline of your most recent emails, and some useful bookmarks in the bottom of the window.
You access the services using the blue circular icons aligned along the top of the window.
Webmail
To access webmail select the email icon, a small letter in the blue circle. This will open another window to your webmail account.
Change Password
To change your password select the password change button, the padlock icon to the right hand side. Provide your old password, and your new password twice. Please ensure your new password is a minimum of eight characters.
