ECDL Advanced

Since The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) was first introduced at the University in 2000, some 387 candidates have successfully achieved their certificates.  If you would like to further your Office application skills and gain an advanced qualification ECDL Advanced is the next step.

ECDL Advanced will allow you to demonstrate your higher level computer skills.  You can demonstrate that you are confident, competent and efficient in a range of applications.

ECDL Advanced is available via BCS for the following applications -

  • Word Processing
  • Spreadsheets
  • Databases
  • Presentations

Here at the University we are currently able to offer ECDL Advanced in Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Presentations.

You can take tests in any of the modules individually to receive an ECDL Advanced certificate in that application.

What if I need training before I sit the tests?

A number of IT Services' regular courses are suitable for those preparing for these ECDL Advanced qualifications.  Course details can be found in The Training Directory 2007-2008 and on our main Training web page.

What do I need to know to pass the tests?

Candidates should be familiar with the syllabus that will be examined: both modules have a published syllabus. Please note all tests will be carried out on Office 2003 applications.

Take a look at the Syllabus page for full details for each module.
