How to check that you are connected to the VPN service

When you successfully login to VPN a small yellow padlock will appear beside the connection entry and the connect button will change to a disconnect button. There will also be a yellow padlock icon in your systray, normally at the bottom right hand corner of your screen

After you are connected to VPN you must use other application's such as Internet Explorer, Netscape, Outlook, Eudora, Pegasus, WS-FTP or Telnet to access the resource you would like to use.

To check that VPN is working select the "Status/Statistics" menu.

In the window below check that the Bytes Received and Sent are increasing when you open the University of Glasgow home page in your web browser.
