BI/Query

BI/Query is a report generator which can be run on a PC. MAC users can use BI/Query if they have an IMAC and Virtual PC software installed on their machine.

The package enables you to retrieve information held in the following University central database systems:

• Admissions
• Finance
• Payroll
• Personnel
• Physical resources
• Research
• Salary forecasting
• Student records

You can select data by creating your own individual queries and reports. Results are returned to your screen in the form of a spreadsheet or report and can be manipulated further by exporting them into other applications, e.g. Excel or Word. Facilities are also available to present data in the form of charts, crosstabs and tables.

To use BI/Query, you must first complete an application form specific to the system(s) you wish to access.

Installing BI/Query Software and Models

When you have been notified that your access permissions have been granted, you are responsible for installing the BI/Query software and required models on your PC.

Training

MIS also provide training in the use of BI/Query in general and model specific courses. Users are advised to attend a Basic BI/Query course BEFORE attending a model specific course as a basic knowledge of BI/Query is assumed on the model specific courses.
