E-recruitment updates

News and updates on the new E-recruitment system.

12.09.2008

E-recruitment is the use of information technology to make it easier and more efficient for candidates to apply to the University and to streamline the recruitment process within the University for Recruiting Managers.

The University recently tendered for the provision of an e-recruitment software solution and a preferred e-recruitment solution has been identified.

A Project Team has been established and tasked with implementing the i-Grasp solution provided by Stepstone.  The Project Team will work in partnership with the Stepstone implementation Team to meet the objectives of the project and deliver within the timescale set out in the project plan.

The project is designed to handle every stage of the recruitment process from initial preparation of job descriptions and advertising, through to short listing, reference letters and production of contracts.  In addition, the ‘back office’ functions will provide vacancy tracking, auditing and reporting capabilities.

In essence, most of the current paper based system is transferred to the proposed electronic system. Paper copy can still be provided to users who wish to use it, but the management of recruitment becomes more automated, and most users will use electronic applications for shortlisting etc.

Once implemented the solution will give candidates secure, confidential access to University vacancies 24/7 reaching a global audience.  Recruiting managers will be able to see all applications on line, and panels will be able to shortlist on line.  Data security will be built into the system to ensure we meet good Data Protection standards, and minimise the risk of losing personal data.

The project Plan is currently being finalised and regular updates will be given on progress.  Should you wish further information on this project please contact Tracey Stirling, Project Manager, Human Resources, T.Stirling@admin.gla.ac.uk, x.2913.
