Tours

  • Have you ever wondered what an archivist does?  Or what archives we hold here and how we store them?  Come for a free, behind-the-scenes tour and find out. 

When?  

The tours are held on the last Thursday of the month between 14.00-15.00hrs, apart from the March 2009 tour, which is in the evening:

  • 23rd October 2008
  • 27th November 2008
  • 22nd January 2009
  • 26th February 2009 (Archive careers focus) 
  • 26th March 2009, 18.00-19.00hrs 
  • 23rd April 2009
  • 28th May 2009
  • 25th June 2009 (Archive careers focus) 
  • 23rd July 2009
  • 27th August 2009

Open to: anyone – University staff and students, and members of the public – to a maximum of 12 people. Some tours will focus on archive work as a career, for those thinking of entering the profession, but all are still welcome.

Admission: free.

Accessibility: tour visitors to our Thurso Street building need to be able to negotiate up to 8 flights of stairs; approximately 45 minutes is spent walking.  If this would prove difficult or you have any other particular requirements, please contact us to discuss alternatives.
