Thurso Street main searchroom:
Accommodates up to 9 visitors at one time. (Appointments recommended especially during term time)
2 power points available for laptop users. (Reservation recommended using appointment booking form)
Lounge with tea and coffee making facilities. (Shared with staff)

Lockers.
Order slips are normally collected every 15 minutes; the last collection is 30 minutes before closing. You may order as many items as you require for your research, but for security reasons you will only be issued with 3 at a time. Document deliveries may be less frequent during staff lunchtimes (between 12.00hrs and 14.00hrs), and you are advised to pre–order enough documents to cover this period.
Finding aids in paper and computerised formats.
Library of reference books.
A selection of bars, cafes and restaurants is within 5 minutes walk.
An archivist and two assistants are always available to assist visitors.

Dumbarton Road ground-level searchroom:
Accommodates up to 2 visitors at one time (appointment always essential).
Power points available for both visitors.
Lounge with tea and coffee making facilities (shared with staff).
Wheelchair accessible toilet.
Orders must be placed 24 hours in advance.
Finding aids in computerised format.
A selection of bars, cafes and restaurants is within 5 minutes walk.
An assistant is always available to assist visitors and an archivist can be called for assistance as required.
The University’s Conference and Visitor Service (CVSO) can advise on the availability of local accommodation for visitors using the Archive collections. A wide range of options from self catering to 5 star hotels is available.
