Prof Veitch joined the Law School at Glasgow in 1999. Prior to that he was a lecturer at Macquarie University in Sydney. He holds degrees from the University of Edinburgh. He researches and teaches in the areas of philosophy and politics of law. He has held visiting positions at the University of Cape Town (1997), the European Academy of Legal Theory, Brussels (1999-2001), the University of Canterbury, NZ (2004), and the University of New South Wales, Sydney (2004). His book Moral Conflict and Legal Reasoning (Oxford: Hart, 1999) won the European Award for Legal Theory.
