LLM in International Law

A distinctive feature of this programme is the unique blend of courses that offer an in-depth analysis of international law topics while locating these within a wider legal context. The International Law Programme is taught by a team that truly understands international issues: it consists of staff from the UK, Canada, Germany and Uzbekistan.

As intercourse among states has increased in the years since the Second World War - whether in the form of trade, humanitarian aid, the use of force or the administration of international criminal justice - the importance of international law has increased significantly.  It has become one of the most fast-moving legal disciplines and the influence of politics on the substantive content of the law is apparent.  Moreover, the growing importance of international law is having an ever-greater impact on domestic legal systems.

Options:

  • Foundations of International Law (normally compulsory)
  • Globalisation, Constitutionalism and Human Rights
  • International Criminal Law
