The Healthy Working Lives Group has close links with Salus Occupational Health & Safety. Salus is one of the largest NHS based multi-disciplinary teams of professionals in Scotland and is committed to providing the highest quality Occupational Health & Safety services to its clients. Uniquely, Salus offers a truly one stop shop approach to Occupational Health & Safety as well as an innovative approach to workplace health and safety management. Dr Ewan Macdonald is Director of Salus.

While the Salus emphasis is on the total care of its clients, it is also recognised that there may be new ways of providing services, identifying potential safety and health problems and influencing the development of national services and priorities. To this end, Salus provides support and carries out research through a number of project services. These project services provide free and confidential information and assistance to companies and individuals in relation to health and safety, diagnosis and treatment of occupational illness, rehabilitation services and development of health promotion initiatives. Current projects include: HOPE (Healthcare, Occupational and Primary for Employees in Lanarkshire), Lanarkshire Workplace Assessment Service, Safe and Healthy Working and the Health and Safety Advice Line (there are links to all of these on the Salus webpage under projects).
