Research
The focus of work undertaken ranged from initial teacher education to post-doctoral research. Members of staff contributed to the BEd, BTechEd, BEdMus and MA in Religious and Philosophical Education degrees, to PGDE primary and secondary courses; to the supervision of research degrees including MEd, MPhil, MLitt, EdD and PhD degrees. The personnel to lead the work of the Unit was drawn in part from the core management team. However the Unit also drew from a deeper well of professional expertise, with formal contributions from some of the UK’s most respected academics, including Professors James Conroy, Ian Menter and Michael Peters. Members of the unit team with relevant interests and expertise are invited to participate in various activities; consultancies/evaluations/research. Agreement was then reached with the relevant Head of Department to bid for a percentage of the individual’s time for the project.
