Postgraduate courses
We extend a very warm welcome to prospective, new and postgraduate students. We aim to provide a supportive and stimulating teaching and research environment for our thriving body of postgraduate students, who can study a variety of programmes and for a number of different degrees.
We are internationally recognised for our research in the fields of economic, social, business, financial, gender and medical history. We have
- Full Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) recognition for all of our taught masters programmes and our doctoral programme
- Gained more ESRC quota awards in economic and social history over the last 5 years than any other UK university
- Received generous funding from the Wellcome Trust to fund postgraduate research in medical history
- A large community of PhD students (currently over 25) housed in excellent facilities in the Department
- Particularly praised in the 2002 QAA subject review of History for the quality and quantity of feedback to students in the taught postgraduate programmes
You will find information on these pages about both taught programmes (MSc) and research programmes (PhD and MLitt). Should you require any further information then please contact us.
