Alumni

Welcome back to any graduates of the Department. We are always interested in hearing what you are up to once you leave us so feel free to drop us an email.

We do arrange events for alumni - in 2007 we hosted a dinner to mark the golden jubilee of the Department and were very pleased to have so many of you there, including Fiona Hyslop, the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning, who is a graduate of the Department.

Fiona is one of four current MSPs who are graduates of the Department. The others are Wendy Alexander, Aileen Campbell and Margaret Curran. Other alumni include Brian McBride, managing director of Amazon UK and a Celtic director, John McCormick, head of the Scottish Qualifications Agency and ex-Controller of BBC Scotland.

We also organise talks for our current undergraduates by our alumni to talk about employment opportunities. So whatever you have gone on to do we are interested to know and would be very pleased if you would be able to offer a talk.  If you are interested please send us an email.
