About us
Work on Computer Assisted Reporting of Electrocardiograms (CARE) began in Glasgow in 1964. Today the CARE
team form the Electrocardiology Group within the Division of Medical Sciences of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Glasgow and are located within Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Scotland.
The team is led by Professor Peter Macfarlane, an expert in the field of electrocardiography, who has over 35 years experience in the development of computer based systems for the interpretation of ECGs.
The work of the CARE team can be categorised into two broad types of activities:
- Research and development into new techniques for automating ECG diagnosis (the Glasgow program )
- The ECG Core lab and Clinical trials
Within this framework we can provide a number of services.
