AMBA accredited MBA Fair, London

University of Glasgow MBA staff and alumni will be at the AMBA accredited MBA fair on Saturday, 18th October 2008.

The fair will be held at the Thistle Hotel, Marble Arch from 2 to 5 pm.

In addition to speaking with Business School staff and alumni, the fair offers the opportunity to speak with representatives from Association of MBAs and attend workshops on MBA programmes and the admissions process.

Financial Crises and Regulation: Lessons from the Past?

October 2008 marks the 130th anniversary of the collapse of the City of Glasgow Bank, which is the last major bank in Britain to be allowed to fail.

This half-day workshop hosted by the Centre for Business History at the University of Glasgow will explore the past experience of banking and financial crisis to determine what lessons these episodes offer for current difficulties.

The workshop will be of interest to all who want to develop a deeper understanding of the dynamics of financial crises, the links between the financial and real economies under pressure, and the outcome of different regulatory responses. It is designed to reach out to academics, journalists, bankers and policy-makers to help inform the current debate.
