Welcome to Archaeology at Glasgow
We are the largest Archaeology Department in Scotland with an international reputation across a number of specific fields. We have
- a strong commitment to integrated practical, theoretical and scientific archaeological approaches in our teaching and research
- a clear focus on specific geographical contexts, most notably in Scotland and the Mediterranean
- a major role in applied research through GUARD, our commercially funded professional field unit.
We work across the entire time span of human occupation with a geographical range from St Kilda through Romania and to the Jordan valley and the Ukraine.
If you are interested in coming to study with us, please see the range of programmes we offer. If you are a current student, a range of resources associated with your courses are provided. We have also provided information about what we do and who we are. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
