- The American Studies Crossroads Project is the world's most important American Studies site. It contains information about the American Studies Association (ASA), the ASA newsletter, and news about the annual conference; links to American Studies organisations and information about degree programmes around the world; news of fellowships, jobs and professional opportunities; essays on American Studies; an American Studies virtual library; and resources and materials for teaching.
- The British Association for American Studies (BAAS) is the organisation for British students and staff in American Studies. In addition to publishing the Journal of American Studies, BAAS organises an annual conference.
- The United States Information Agency (USIA) is the federal government's agency for promoting and supporting the study of American civilisation outside of the United States.
- Europe's leading American Studies research institution is the Salzburg Centre for the Study of American Culture & Language, which sponsors lectures, seminars and conferences, and supports research and teaching of American Studies throughout Europe.
