Gordon Studentships - Taught MLitt and PhD in American Studies
The Centre for American Studies will be offering several full or partial fees-only studentships for the 2009-2010 academic session for students wishing to take the MLitt or the PhD degree in American Studies.
These studentships are available to UK students, EU nationals and applicants from outside the EU, but please note that the studentships will cover the cost of the student’s fees up to a maximum of fees are currently £3,750 p.a. for MLitt, and £3,300 p.a. for PhD (2008-2009 rates).
The Taught MLitt in American Studies is designed as a one-year postgraduate course (two years part-time) for students with a good Honours degree in American Studies, English, History, Politics, Media Studies or other relevant field, either as a short postgraduate experience in its own right, or as a first stage in preparation for a PhD. The PhD is a three-year research degree.

Applications should consist of a letter of application and a writing sample: please note that applicants must have been accepted by the University of Glasgow – conditionally or unconditionally – for either the Taught MLitt or the PhD in American Studies.
