Undergraduate Accounting & Finance
The Department and the BAcc
The Department of Accounting & Finance is one of the longest established accounting departments in the UKand has earned a respected reputation for quality within both academic and professional accounting circles, largely through the recognised quality of the BAcc (Bachelor of Accountancy) degree: one of the benchmark accounting degrees in Scotland
The BAcc degree was introduced in 1968 and is one of the most established accounting degrees in the UK. This strong history of education in the disciplines of accounting and finance, which started in 1925, is reinforced by our constant updating of the degree and our strong research base.
Undergraduate administrators' support
A very warm welcome to our website, from the undergraduate administrators.
The BAcc Degree has two dedicated, full-time administrators - Julie Cairns (left) and Lynn Borges (right). They are here to help answer any questions you have before you arrive and to provide ongoing support and advice throughout your 4 years of study. Julie and Lynn are based in the heart of our newly refurbished Department in the West Quadrangle on Level 3 - our doors are always open!
We can:
- Arrange a tour of the department upon your arrival.
- Provide a friendly and efficient first point of contact for any enquiries and give you ongoing support and advice whenever you need it.
- Help you feel at home in Glasgow, providing you with information to help you get around the city.
- Put you in touch with the Glasgow University Accounting Association (GUAS). This is an Association run by the Accountancy students - they organise great social events throughout the year that will help you get to know lots of your classmates from all cultures and backgrounds.
- Help with official matters such as proof of student status and any other official paperwork.
- Help you with pre-registration, approve your course choices and keep you up to date with all coursework and exam requirements.
