Conditions of use

The departmental computer labs are provided for student use on the condition that the following Rules are complied with

  • Access is only for students in the Faculty of Law and Financial Studies
  • NO food or drink allowed in the labs (including sweets and gum)
  • NO personal stereos
  • NO mobile phones
  • Only use the software provided on the computers (anything else is strictly prohibited)
  • Please remove all your disks, notepads, belongings, etc after use.  (A Lost Property box is located in each lab for items left behind, or with the Computer Manager)
  • Please put rubbish in the bins provided

FAILURE TO ADHERE TO THESE RULES WILL RESULT IN EJECTION FROM THE LABS!

IT Training

First year students of the Department of Accounting and Finance following the BAcc course should not apply for a place on the Making Good Use of IT course offered by the IT Education Unit.  A version of the course will be run in-house and is compulsory for all first year students.  Students satisfying the requirements of the course will receive the University's Certificate of Basic IT Competence.
